25 Days of Giveaways - Welcome to Day #21

I would like to welcome all of my regular readers, as well as those who are visiting Gracie's blog for the first time as part of Tina's 25 Days of Giveaways.  I would also like to thank Tina for putting the festivities together again this year!!!  It definitely is something to look forward to.  When I think about it, though, it's hard to believe that I have been part of this community long enough to be doing this for the second time!

Today's giveaway is open to BLMs, BLDs, BL aunts or uncles, or BL grandparents.  I had initially planned to offer a gift certificate to the Midnight Orange, however D. Antonia is on a bit of an artistic hiatus, so I decided to go a different route.

I know that many of you have special memorial gardens or other special outside areas set up to memorialize your angels, so I decided that I would give away a  garden flag that reads "We Remember Angelversaries."

To enter today's giveaway, leave a comment to tell me what special thing(s) you have done or plan to do to remember your little one's angelversary.  If an email address is not readily available through your blogger profile, please also leave your email address in your comment.  I will leave things open until 9:00 a.m. (EST) on Wednesday the 22nd. Good luck to all who enter, and thanks for dropping by our little corner of the blogosphere!  Merry Christmas and much love to you all!

Oh my goodness Susan, I would so love one of those. I'll be buying my first home sometime in the spring and I can already imagine the memorial garden I want to build in honour of my Calvin. So far the only thing we've done to honour his angelversary is to go to the cemetery with family and have a lunch afterwards. Being a renter, I have not wanted to put alot of work into a space I'm leaving but with the upcoming purchase of our new home, the garden is going to be one place I will be spending time. Having this flag would be like having a little piece of Gracie in our memorial garden. I can be reached as always through my blog or at shaneandmargaret1@hotmail.com Much love and thanks for hosting this great giveaway.

I go through Genesis' things on angelversaries. I look at photos, smell her blanket, light a candle, blog about it... Each year that passes I cant believe it has been so long. And my email is available through my Written From The Heart blog.

That is beautiful! I have a rose bush in my front yard in honor of her with pink roses and I have a shelf in my basement with the last outfit she wore and her molds on it. This has been a rough holiday for me but these giveaways sure have helped. My e-mail address teresafarmer13@msn.com

We have done so much to! We have a memorial garden and I have been wanting that flag forever for the garden! We have areas in our house with his special things, he has a memory book and memory boxes, and we pay tribute to his memory with our support group. We also go to the cemetary on holidays to release balloons to him. I also have special pieces of jewelry for both my heavenly babies. My email is larissacollyer@yahoo.com

For Dylan's angelversary, we've made it a tradition to make a donation to the children's hospital where he stayed.

I've been thinking a lot about angelversaries lately because Sydney's is coming up in about 7 weeks. We started the tradition of visiting the cemetery with cupcakes, singing happy birthday, and then having cupcakes with her. Butterflies remind us of Sydney so we also go to a local attraction called the Butterfly House. The butterflies fly around freely and it is so peaceful there. The most important thing for me is to do what makes me feel the closest to her. Last year, we woke up at her birth time (4:30 am), lit a candle and let it burn for 2 hours--the time she lived--and looked at pictures and her things. So this year, I would think it would be the same way, but I guess we'll see what I need that day.

This is such a good idea. Thank you for hosting this giveaway. I would be honored to have one of those flags in Kennedy's garden. Take care and have a gentle holiday.

You know... I can't remember all the details of Freja's angelversary last year. I'm going to have to look back in my blog. I do know that we went to the cemetary that day, just as we do for all holidays/special days. I was at the end of a very long and emotionally difficult pregnancy with my rainbow boy, and was in a very, very dark place. We did have a big celebration for Freja's birthday... but by the time we got to her angelversary, I was just ill physically, mentally, and emotionally from the grief.
However, this year (because I'm hoping to be able to cope better,) and for all the years to come, I plan to sew and donate receiving blankets for the NICU she was in, and of course visit her.

I released Pink balloons on Cara's Birthday. The each had notes attached with her story and for whomever found them to contact me. No one has :( But there is always hope.

Juanito's 1st Birthday is coming up on the 29th and I still do not have a plan set in stone, but we plan on doing something just as a family to remember him!

We will for sure donate a few more Juanito's Wish boxes to a hospital!

That's a great giveaway! For Alexandra, we released a few balloons and for any other anniversaries, we usually light a candle. I hope to keep honoring her in different ways for many years to come. Thanks for hosting!

What a great idea, where did you get that? I'd love to get one even if I don't win. =)

What a great little flag! I love it! For Adelle's first birthday we had a "butterfly party" for her and invited all the special people that have helped us walk through the last year. Then, the moment of her birth, we all lit sparklers. It was so wonderful to remember her with joy!

I would love to win the flag! For Patrick's angelversary, I light candles for all babies, because he happened to fly up to heaven on October 15th, 2008. I also make quilts for other BLM that I give to a local hospital. Next year, I would love to do a sky lantern, but I'm not sure how safe they are. :)

I love that flag, it represents my new normal. Angelversaries are a big part of it now. One of the biggest things I did for my daughter was making Laken's garden, having her own little space.

I love the flag! I'd love to put that up! For Carleigh's 1st birthday we had a big party. I'm not sure what we'll do for her 2nd in March. It won't be quite as big as her 1st though if we do have a party.

I love this, I've never seen one like it. For Hadley's anniversary we send her balloons from the cemetery and this year on her third angelversary we tried to do things to really enjoy time together as a family instead of spending the day crying because I know that is what she would want.
